More Than One. A Poem

There is more than one
I see what you mean
Take a number
Wait in line
You will get to me
Eventually.

When it is my turn
How should I proceed?
I must stand out
Somehow
I must have some
Special ability.

You say be myself.
Who else would I be?
But I fear that is not enough
I am inadequate
In some capacity.

I throw my hands up
My shoulders shrug
Being more than one
Not knowing my competition
Makes me want to
Throw in the towel.
Just admit defeat.

Who says you are
Worth It?
Two can play
This numbers game.
Sadly there may
Never be
A satisfactory ending.

 You are unique in a special way.
This is not a competition really.
'Worth it' is what you should say.
And maybe add 'I like being me'?
